Well, it's Saturday morning 8am. I've been up since 5am. Five seems to be the waking time of choice for my little man, I'm pretty ok with that, as before I had him my employment was a truck driver. My hubby and I work for the same company so we are always up this early anyway. So, it's been a week since I set up this blog. Reason being I was hoping that if I had something to keep track of my feelings I would be more accountable. A year and nine months ago I weighed 145 pounds. A little over what a woman of 5'2" should weigh but I was very muscular at the same time. I was working out heavily at the time getting ready for my wedding. I swore to myself that I wasn't doing it strictly for our wedding and that of course I would stick with it afterwards. Man oh man, did I fall off that wagon HARD!! Two months after the wedding I had already gained 20lbs. When I got pregnant 11months later I weighed 170lbs, and today 10 weeks after his birth I am a rocking 204lbs! Sheesh, how does this happen? Never mind how...time to move forward. 80 pounds to happiness!! So, I'm giving myself one last weekend of mindless eating and sloth like lying around. Come Monday the gauntlet begins. My tenant and I are going to try two weeks of Bikram Hot Yoga, I really hope I love it. The long lean muscles of yoga fanatics have always made me envious. I already meet with a group of girls on Tuesdays for a couple hours for a stroller walk, but I'm going to suggest making it a little more challenging by throwing a geo-caching spin on it.
My plan is to create two week goals. If you can't stick to something for two weeks, you just aren't taking it seriously enough. What is serious, is how this 80 lbs is affecting my happiness, health and well my wardrobe!
So, on top of the yoga and stroller walks, my goals for the next two weeks are as follows:
-attend yoga every night
-burn 500 calories every day (tracked by polar heart rate monitor/calorie tracker)
-drink 100oz of water every day. (tracked by Water Lite iPhone app)
-maintain a net of 1200 calories every day (tracked by Livestrong Daily Plate)
-keep up with this blog everyday to keep me accountable
If I can get through this I will challenge myself a little more.
I have been eating as suggested by Clean Eating Magazine and am enjoying the food immensely and it doesn't seem to be adding to my weight, so I'm gonna stick with it for now. So wish me luck, I'll check in Monday :)
